Using the throw away Propane bottles makes this a great portable heater. One bottle will heat on low for about five hours. You can also buy a hose to hook into a bigger Propane tank. The heater is lite, easy to ignite and easy to move. On a cold night in a tent or small camper this is a nice heater. Note: If using a hose to run this heater off a bigger tank of Propane I recommend using a fuel filter that can be purchased for this item. This keeps the heater from getting gummed up from unused propane left in the hose.Customer Review: Satisfied first time user.

The price of kerosene has skyrocketed so I switched to propane. I have my Tough Buddy heater hooked up to a remote tank with the 12' hose and the filter for good measure and it works great. The only cons I have with it are the smell which no matter what anybody says is present and remains in the area of use and the ignition sequence. Starting the heater is just like an older furnace or water heater and it doesn't always work but I really can't complain compared to the hassle of my old kerosene heaters.Customer Review: Great at high altitude

Well, I just got back from a camping trip at 10,000' with my RV this last weekend. Outside temp at night was in the single digits. I had the Buddy going the whole weekend and my RV furnace did not cycle on once. This little unit did a great job keeping the temp around 60 degrees in the camper. I had read the owners manual and it stated that there might be a problem above 7,000' keeping the unit operational. The unit didn't cycle off once the whole weekend. My husband and I bought this portable heater after we went through one power outage in northern California. It is so breezy and cold up here during the winter that not having a heat source for even a few days was horrible. Now, with this particular propane heater, it keeps whatever room we were in nice and toasty without the use of central heating. We moved the heater from the living room to the bedroom at night and stayed warm. It's safe and easy to use. Highly recommend it.Customer Review: Mr. Heater is MY Buddy!

I purchased a Mr. Heater at first to take the chill off when camping in my horse trailer. Worked great-loved it. Just recently remembered I had it when I was freezing due to no heat in my house. Once again Mr. Heater is my Buddy keeping me warm and he's even safe to have in the house!! As soon as I walk in the door I turn him on HI- then after a couple minutes I turn down to medium. Don't get me wrong- would be nice to have real heat- but Mr. heater is a great help!
