Tools and Hardware Reviews of Mr Heater MH18B Portable "Big Buddy" HeaterCustomer Review: moneyman Summary: 5 Stars
This is the second Big Buddy heater I have gotten. We have short but cold power outages in my area and this heater does a great job in maintaining the house temperature at a comfortable level until the power and the furnace come back on. It's also convenient because it can easily be moved from room to room and I also use it in my garage when working on projects. I bought a second one for my daughter and got her the hose with the quick disconnect and regulator for safer operation indoors since they tell me that the pressure in the hose is only 1/2 psi pressure.
Customer Review: Great Heater Summary: 5 Stars
I have owned the Big Buddy Heater for a couple years now and must say it is one of the best cold weather items I have found. The heater can be operated with (2) 1lb. cylinders or a 20 # refillable cylinder, hose and the recommended fuel filter. ( Recently, I found out there is another even better hose to use with a refillable cylinder) The hose F271803 and you don't even need a fuel filter!! The heater has a small fan that circulates the warm air and runs on D batteries or 115 volt adapter.
I talk to a lot of RV owners and they swear by the heater.
Customer Review: Garage Buddy Summary: 5 Stars
I've had my Big Buddy since 2006 and use it all the time. I restore cars for a hobby and find myself in the garage quite a bit. This heater really takes the chill of the air when it's cold outside. It's portable and easy to use. The optional hoses that are available allow me to connect it to a 20# propane tank which is great for when I may be using the heater for extended periods of time. Amazon has a great price on the Big Buddy so I just purchased one for my son. It will come in handy for his outdoor projects or family camping trips.
Customer Review: Heater exploded Summary: 5 Stars
Bought Big Buddy MH 18B through Amazon
ser# mhc 748000358386 on Dec 29 2008.
Worked fine for a month then I put it away, I live in AZ mild winters.
A year later Now December 09 I got it out hooked it up correctly and it did a mild explosion fire shot out a foot or 2 and continued until I got the source turned off which was a 20 lb cylinder. The problem was not the hose or connection. Up until now I knew of no recall and my heater was not under the recall anyway. My conclusion is that they don't have the problem fixed yet.
Customer Review: AWSOME! Summary: 5 Stars
We got one of these to heat our camper at our beach property and I gotta tell you,it was a great purchase. Even on low,it will about cooks us out of our 24 ft trailer on the coldest nights. I also like that it has a carbon monoxide shutoff and a tip over switch in case my dogs bump it.Also with a simple adapter hose,it can be hooked up to a larger propane tank for longer use. It is a propane heater so common sense is a must(such as keep away from flammables & walls),but after 2 years of use, I still highly recommend this heater.
