Tools and Hardware Reviews of Mr. Heater MH18B-California Approved, Portable Propane HeaterCustomer Review: Big Buddy heater Summary: 5 Stars
I just purchased my second Big Buddy for my Brother and he is overjoyed with it's operation and portablity. He uses it in the garage for projects because he doesn't have a basement. It also gets used in the three seasons room and makes the temperature very comfortable, in fact it would be nice if the heater had a thermostat to turn it on and off because it makes the room too warm even at it's lowest setting.
Customer Review: Caution: Do NOT buy the "Bought Together" filter and hose Summary: 5 Stars
The "frequently bough together" option puts the wrong hose and filter together. The hose is the quick connect type, the filter does not accept this fitting, you can't use then with the heater. You need the NON (and cheaper) quick connect hose and filter.
Will update this review with notes after using the heater on a Thanksgiving weekend camping trip.
Customer Review: Great heater unit Summary: 5 Stars
This is a great heating unit. I had the single tank unit but it would run out halfway through a day trip. With the duel tank ability on this one I can use it all day without having to bring extra small tanks along. It also has two burner units so it can really heat a garage. Get the optional a/c adapter for the fan it improves fan output and saves on batteries.
Customer Review: Great value for money Summary: 5 Stars
This is a great heater for the price. You may want to get the hose to hook up a 5 gallon tank to save money. It cost $11.75 to fill a 5 gallon (20 lb) tank (12/2010). Two one pound bottles (2 lb) cost $11.60, at this rate 20 lbs would cost $58. So it pays to get the $45 quick connect hose. It works well and has good safety features.
Customer Review: my Big Buddy Summary: 5 Stars
I received my Big Buddy for Christmas 06 from my Dad. I've used it extensively at meets and wouldn't be without it. I called Mr Heater to find out which hose connection was the best for using a bbq tank and was told to use the hose that snaps onto the connector on the left side of the heater. This thing rocks!
